Worms Armagedon

This is one of those games that's instantly addictive. Funny, cute, and likely to develop a cult following, this is really just a turn-based war game. Beware, though -- owners of Worms II might be disappointed in the lack of enhancements.

Darkstone

Think Diablo; think Diablo in 3D.  That’s the first thing you'll notice when you look at this game. Once you get past the idea that it’s a copy, you’ll find that this is a good game on its own merits.

East Front II

Tackling Russia in winter has tested the minds of history’s best military strategists. Of course, since most failed, maybe their strategy wasn’t so good after all. Maybe you’re better. You can prove it, with this buggy but enjoyable war game.

Atari Arcade Hits

Asteroids, Centipede, Missile Command, Pong, Super Breakout, and Tempest are back in their original format in this package. It's a nostalgic trip with block graphics, blippy sound, and the ability to post your high scores on the Internet.

Rage of Mages II: Necromancer

This is what you get when you put the original Rage of Mages in the body and fender shop. It’s the same game with different chrome. It’s playable but gives you no compelling reason to go out and buy it.

Kingpin

This game makes me glad there's a rating system. It’s a very well designed game about urban crime that's definitely not for children. This one is for adults and not for the faint of heart.

Mechwarrior 3

Fewer hassles than the competition make Microprose’s uninspired but competent addition to the BattleTech universe worth playing. It does very little new, but it does most things well enough to be a fun game to play—and that’s what counts.

Fighter Pilot

Hop in a jet fighter cockpit and engage hostiles in Electronic Art’s fighter simulation for casual gamers. Go up against jet fighters, attack copters and ground installations. It won’t unseat Falcon 4.0, but will satisfy casual would-be fighter aces.

Bird Hunter Upland Edition

This is the first hunting game we’ve seen that actually looks like it was produced for today's market. It looks fairly good but doesn’t really succeed in holding your interest during play. Still an improvement over the competition.
