Summary

Oliver Stone’s eulogy to Jim Morrison is graced with a great performance by Val Kilmer, but is burdened by Stone’s desire to mythologize an interesting rock star, but essentially a minor talent. Despite the spot-on recreation of the mood of the times, the film is ultimately pretentious.
